Since 1992, Natural Industries has been committed to providing organic plant protection microbes to the horticulture, agriculture and lawn & garden industries. Our products are safe, non-toxic, non-phytotoxic (will not burn plants), natural and proven through science to be effective in controlling foliar and soil-borne diseases. Natural Industries is now proud to annouce that we are a Novozymes Company. To learn more see our press release.
It’s all about our little microbes.
Our microorganisms are first marketed to professional growers including, greenhouses, nurseries, golf courses and farmers. After years of use by commercial operations we then bring them to the consumer lawn and garden market. Our first patented microorganism, Streptomyces lydicus strain WYEC 108, is the key to a balanced, productive and natural environment for plant life. Whether settling into the plant’s foliage or the root’s rhizosphere, the S. lydicus microorganism colonizes and grows around the structure of the plant forming a symbiotic relationship. This unique relationship includes the microbe feeding of the plant’s waste materials while secreting beneficial and protective by-products back into the plant system. This process of colonization and protective secretions forms a defensive barrier around the plant which in turn suppresses and controls soil pathogens. Our S. lydicus microbe, sold under the Actinovate brand, has also been shown to prey on certain pathogens, disrupting their cell walls and disabling them in the process.
Our Actinovate microbes are currently found in products used by thousands of horticulture, agriculture and landscape professionals around the world. S. lydicus has been extensively researched by many industry professionals in the lab and in the field. Our microbes are proven effective for such plants as annuals, perennials, shrubs, woody ornamentals, trees, and landscape transplants. We specialize in taking microbial technologies from the discovery phase and running them through a series of development levels meant to screen out undesirable traits. This ensures that our professional and consumer products contain the best microbial strains in the world.
Rigorous Research & Development
Natural Industries has partnered with many great institutions, such as The University of Idaho and the USDA, to develop its microbial technologies. Many of our products must be registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in order to be sold in the US. This requires extensive toxicity and ecotoxicity tests to measure the product’s effect on the environment. The Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) also approves our products for use in organic farming as required by the USDA’s National Organics Program (NOP). Natural Industries is currently selling its products overseas and must comply with all safety and environmental regulations in these foreign countries as well. For additional quality-control measures, Natural Industries has contracted many Universities to do field research with the products to establish independent clinical efficacy tests. All of this adds up to the safest and most powerful microbial solutions on the market.
Our Mission: For every plant problem, there’s a microorganism that can solve it.
